It was the beginning of 2023, and AI tools like ChatGPT and Midjourney were just taking off. I'd always dreamed of making a comic book, so I saw it as my moment to dive in, even though I was a bit nervous about whether my teachers would approve of using these new, kind of scary tools. Their support pushed me to spend weeks generating thousands of images to mash together into a comic, and I even had to finesse in Photoshop to keep the characters consistent.

To match the theme of the comic, I combined all my ideas and processes to create this unique comic book.
Why did I riso print this
I chose to Riso print this comic as a playful contrast between old and new technology. Since Cognis explores the future and AI, it felt fitting to use a retro printing aesthetic like Riso, emphasizing the blend of classic craftsmanship with futuristic themes. The irony of using older tech to print a story about cutting-edge AI gives the project a unique, nostalgic edge while staying rooted in futuristic concepts.
